Washington, D.C. – Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) and Congressman Troy Balderson (R-OH) have introduced a Congressional Review Act joint resolution of disapproval that would block the EPA’s 1,020-page Carbon Rule issued in April.
In response to the resolution’s introduction, America’s Power President and CEO Michelle Bloodworth issued the following statement.
“We commend Senator Capito and Congressman Balderson for providing leadership to protect electricity consumers and prevent electricity shortages. The resolution of disapproval will overturn a harmful EPA regulation that is designed to shut down all coal-fired power plants, even though electricity demand is exploding and coal-fired power plants are a substantial source of dependable and affordable electricity. The Carbon Rule is a dramatic overreach of EPA’s authority, and we urge Congress to pass the resolution of disapproval.”
