Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, Laura Swett and David LaCerte were confirmed by the United States Senate to serve as commissioners on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). In response, America’s Power President & CEO Michelle Bloodworth released the following statement:
“America’s Power congratulates Ms. Swett and Mr. LaCerte on their Senate confirmation. FERC faces many challenges that have contributed to an electricity crisis and raised concerns about our country’s ability to win the AI race. Overcoming these challenges means the U.S. must maintain a healthy coal fleet and coal supply chain. We look forward to working with the two new commissioners as well as the other commissioners.”
