America’s Power Commends Kentucky Legislation

Washington, D.C. – Today, the Kentucky General Assembly passed Senate Bill 349 that establishes a new commission of experts and stakeholders that will help to shape Kentucky’s energy future. The members of the new 18-member commission are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate.

America’s Power President and CEO Michelle Bloodworth issued the following statement:

“We commend the General Assembly for passing SB 349 and for the leadership of the bill’s sponsors, including Senator Mills and Senate President Stivers. This legislation responds to warnings from electricity experts and officials that many parts of the country face an increasing risk of electricity shortages. SB 349 is a critical step to assure that Kentucky’s citizens and businesses have reliable and affordable power. SB 349 should serve as a model for other states to follow.”
