Washington, D.C. – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 3015, the National Coal Council Reestablishment Act. In response, America’s Power President & CEO Michelle Bloodworth released the following statement:
“We appreciate the U.S. House permanently reauthorizing the National Coal Council and ensuring that the Secretary of Energy can receive expert advice on coal policies and technologies. With this vote, the House has again recognized that preserving the nation’s coal fleet is essential for electric reliability, energy security, economic growth, and national security. Coal is one of our nation’s most dependable sources of electricity, and we will not win the AI war against China without its usage.
“We thank Congressman Michael Rulli (R-OH) and Congressman Riley Moore (R-WV) for their leadership on this issue. The National Coal Council will have an important role to play in safeguarding the reliability and affordability of American electricity.”
