America’s Power Releases New Videos Highlighting Coal’s Importance to AI and the Economy

Washington, D.C. America’s Power today released two new videos featuring state public utility commissioners discussing the critical role coal plays in ensuring affordable, reliable electricity and maintaining competitiveness in an AI-driven economy.

“Over this past year, we have seen incredible progress by the Trump administration in rolling back regulatory overreach that was prematurely shuttering America’s coal fleet,” said Michelle Bloodworth, President and CEO of America’s Power. “These new videos provide a platform for state utility commissioners to explain how coal’s resurgence will strengthen grid reliability and keep electricity costs down – encouraging growth, supporting AI and data-center development, and securing their states’ economic future.”

“We are grateful to these commissioners for their leadership and for affirming the vital importance of America’s coal fleet in addressing today’s load-growth challenges, keeping electricity rates low, and meeting our nation’s future electricity needs.”

The videos feature state utility commissioners from around the country including:

  • Chris Brown, Mississippi Public Service Commission
  • Angie Hatton, Kentucky Public Service Commission
  • Sheri Haugen-Hoffart, North Dakota Public Service Commission
  • Edward Lodge, Idaho Public Utilities Commission
  • Jeremy Oden, Alabama Public Service Commission
  • Tricia Pridemore, Georgia Public Service Commission
